10 Minute Meditation for Beginners

This 10 minute Meditation offers an opportunity to move through some of the foundational aspects of meditation.

Meditation offers us an opportunity to commune with our higher state of consciousness, that which we often refer to as our Soul or our Higher Self.  And in order to achieve this it is important to fully relax our body, our emotions and our mind.

Through this guided meditation, instruction is offered in establishing a posture that is conducive to a deep meditation experience. The physical body and the emotional nature must be completely relaxed.  Wherever there is tension, there the mind is held a prisoner. 

If the emotional nature is tense, there is a corresponding physical tension.  These tensions hold the attention of the mind fastened to the body and any attempt to strain or lift the mind from its prison will only serve to strengthen its hold. Therefore the process must be one of relaxing, which results in a freeing of the mind. And thus, in this guided meditation we take our time to move into complete relaxation.

When the physical body and the emotions are quiescent, we may experience a sense of spaciousness and buoyancy, these are indications that we are relaxed and relatively free from distractions, ready for meditation.

We then move into our higher meditation alignment, lifting in frequency through our aspiration to move into union with Soul, our Higher Self. We sound a “seed thought”, a mantric thought which creates a bridge between the lower state of consciousness and the higher state of consciousness.

10 Minute Meditation

This 10 minute meditation is perfect for beginners.

The seed thought:

“I remain receptive to the love which is my soul and flood my being with its radiance of Loving Kindness.”

We then let the words of the seed thought fall away. We let go, blending and merging, moving into communion with the Soul, the Higher Self and sit in complete Silence. This 10-minute Beginner Meditation contains one minute of Silence. We do encourage you to stretch this Silence over a period of time to two minutes, then five minutes up to ten minutes or longer. Enjoy the experience!
