Mother Earth Meditation

This Mother Earth meditation was created for Earth Day, yet it is a meditation that can be utilized at any time.  One of our greatest contributions at this time would be a collective commitment each day to feel the respect, gratitude and genuine appreciation for earth that we summon from our hearts each year on Earth Day.

We can increase this afterglow by taking more responsibility for our energy expenditures, including our thoughts, feelings, emotions and our actions.

As we qualify our life through the heart we increase our capacity to love and care for earth, ourselves, others and earths’ creatures.

Increasing our love raises our vibration which connects us with a self-sustaining frequency of attunement and harmonious interaction with the earth day to day.

This meditation is adapted from a meditation by HeartMath GCI (Global Coherence Initiative.)  HeartMath monitors the global coherence all around the world by putting sensors in about 12 different countries that collect the data.  One of the hypotheses is that: Collective human consciousness affects the global information field.

Therefore, large numbers of people creating heart-centered states of care, love and compassion will generate a more coherent field environment that can benefit others and help offset the current planetary discord and incoherence.  The scientific methods are explained on their website. If interested, I highly recommend checking it out.  https://www.heartmath.org/gci/

A new project HeartMath is doing is about globally measuring the electrical potential of trees using electrodes and hooking them up to Wi-Fi and collecting data.  Plant and tree neurobiology scientists are finding that plants respond to human emotions and various types of music.  They have memory. They have sensory systems, respond to humidity, vibrations, and electromagnetic fields. They share resources with each other.  They are intelligent in how they use their resources. Key research questions HeartMath is exploring: How are trees affected by human emotions? Can trees help predict earthquakes? Do trees communicate with each other over long distances? How does the biofield of trees have an uplifting effect on people?

On a practical level, all businesses, governments and citizens must take bold action to turn things around.  We can start by reducing our use of plastics, because right now there is 8.8 million tons of plastic entering the ocean yearly, threatening over 700 species of marine animals, according to the journal Science and National Geographic.  Plastic is in the fish we eat, and the air we breathe.  It is a hormone disruptor and affects our health in ways we are just beginning to understand.

As we celebrate Earth Day, and all that earth gives to us, let's remember to also send our most genuine care and compassion to those on our planet experiencing extreme stress through these changing times.

If YOU are in a stressful situation, tune in to the collective heart energy to boost the effectiveness of your own self compassion. It's OK… we are all connected.

There will be several pauses of silence in this Mother Earth Meditation as we contemplate the words and images.
