Temple of Healing Meditation

Everyone has the ability to heal themselves and others if they choose.  There are many healing practices one can learn. Our thoughts and visualizations create biochemical processes that can sometimes positively change our wellbeing and bring healing.  There is also an over-shadowing light streaming down over us all the time, attaching to the heart and the head centres and flowing into the seven chakras, which are dim at first and become brighter as we work with them.

In this meditation, we will choose a symbol that represents the source of our highest healing, immersing ourselves in that energy and creating a circle of healing for loved ones.

I dedicate this meditation to all beings seeking healing…

There are many reasons why we get physical and emotional illnesses.  According to Alice Bailey, in the book Esoteric Healing, “All disease is the result of inhibited soul life, and that is true of all forms in all kingdoms.  The art of the healer consists in releasing the soul, so that its life can flow through the aggregate of organisms which constitute any particular form.” An interesting point she makes is that Deity itself also has limitations and imperfections and are working toward a perfection that is beyond our ability as humans to comprehend.

Disease then comes from a lack of alignment between the soul and the form, the life and the expression.  Disease is not the result of wrong thinking, but is actually a process of liberation, correcting that which is static, crystalized and blocked. Some of the many causes of disease stem from accidents, infections, pandemics, epidemics, malnutrition, hereditary, karmic liabilities, environmental toxins and psychological causes.

Psychologically, freeing oneself from the accumulation of the past, both individually and as a group in order to clear the physical body of disease, depends on the purification of the astral or emotional body.

Bailey says the Art of Healing should incorporate three things:

  1. The application of medical care and medicine based on today’s medical knowledge, but also complimentary approaches, such as homeopathy and chiropractic.

  2. The use of psychology to straighten out wrong attitudes of mind, inhibitions, psychoses and complexes in order to learn self-understanding and changing patterns of thinking and behaviour.

  3. The positivity of one’s own soul, who’s life can flow without impediment throughout the form nature.

Meditation is instrumental in this process because in meditation, we are seeking to reach that light where we become aligned with love and purpose. Prayer can also be effective.

This meditation is inspired by meditations in a book by LaUna Huffines, called Bridge of Light. And Alice Bailey’s Esoteric Healing.  So now, let’s get ready for our meditation.  There will be periods of silence in the meditation so that you can contemplate the images.
