Benefits of Meditation Discussion

At a recent Rainbow Terraces Meditation class, the participants were invited to share their experience with the practice of meditation and relate the benefits they received. These comments from the participants are being shared here in the hope of inspiring others.

These comments convey the immediacy of meditation, how aptly does our inner nature tap into and respond to that which is most needed, most appropriate moment to moment. Wonderful.

We can trust ourselves. Meditation is a catalyst, it brings together the various aspects of our mind, emotions, and actions so that truth is revealed to us, and we can be free to move forward. Meditation is also highly personal; it is not someone else’s advice or wisdom.

The results always reveal what is manifesting. If we are bored, meditation is boring if we are inspired, our meditations soar. The miracle of it is not in the result, the miracle is in the process itself. It is simply life and meditation awakens us more fully to it.

These comments are so charged with life and that is what makes them ring so true, and be so inspirational.

Benefits of Meditations by Class Participants

  • I receive answers to things. I get relaxed enough to let answers come to me in meditation.

  • I gain clarity of perspective.

  • Meditation means connecting to Presence within – the Soul with the Wisdom of previous incarnations – The soul with an overview a broader perspective.

  • In meditation we can pose a question and let go of how the resolution may unfold.

  • We are all part of the Divine Plan for humanity. We are connecting with the higher possibility – the possibility of right relationship – of going forth with love.

  • Meditation provides the possibility of transforming how you are relating to another - eg. Transforming resentments.

  • Meditation turns down the mind chatter. When my mind is racing meditation brings me back to myself, I hand myself to the Light within – the spaciousness.

  • Meditation helps me detach from reactions. Helps me realize the thoughts are not who we are – not who I am.

  • I always feel better. It helps me over obstacles.

  • Feeling anxiety and worry, I hand it over in meditation knowing that there is something more.

  • People have noted the change in me. I am not as angry or anxious.

  • Do we need to reach a crisis point before we step in and do something like meditating?

  • When situations are overwhelming in life and we are not in a good headspace, I can be fearful of what may arise within during meditation. There have been past traumas and I want to know there is support. It is a step-by-step learning to trust what happens in meditation.

  • In meditation feelings/emotions can arise and are released. This has addressed my fear of being stuck in a painful, emotional state like depression or anger.

  • Meditation keeps me on track – brings calmness, relaxation. Trying different meditations helps me explore, helps me go deeper into my Soul journey. You really are your inner Soul and you need to listen deeply to It.

  • With meditation I give myself time. I feel calmer. I feel the difference.

  • I feel the trap of feeling guilty if I do not meditate. My ego is trying to maintain its hold. I know it is a choice – will I or won’t I? So, I stop during the day and turn inward for 10 minutes. I am present to Myself.

  • Meditation changed my life. I always helped others and now I am a better person in the way I help.

  • Meditation I find is most calming. Through it I create space in my life. It helps me sleep.

  • It is helpful to me physically and to address my judgments.

  • I believe through meditation we die more accountable for ourselves rather than taking a pill to ease what happens. What are we doing to prepare ourselves?

  • I find a sense of community in the online group.
